My mom has had this book since before I was born, and we have made thousands of cookies from it. Her copy is tattered, battered (literally, with batter!), and torn up, the cover bound to the pages with a large rubber band because the binding gave way years ago. It is the Velveteen Rabbit of cookbooks, well-loved and alive with memories. My favorite is the lemon bars. Simple and delicious! I made them for a baby shower just last weekend and got rave reviews and recipe requests. This book and the recipes in it just can't be beat!
