I have accumulated several wildflower books during my years of hiking the Appalachian Trail, and this is probably my favorite. It's about 200 pages and each right-hand page is a full size beautiful, well-done color photo of a flower, and the left-hand page is a delightful and informative description telling about the flower, where it can be found, and juicy tidbits. I'll keep this book on my coffee table, but will also use it before and after my hikes. Plus, it's small enough that I could actually take it hiking without much trouble, if I wanted. If I had one complaint, it would be that the fine black font of the text can be difficult to read against the some of the green background pages mostly used. It's a lovely shade and color of green, make no mistake, but does not make it easy on the eyes to read fine text on it. Still, I like this book a lot and give it a rare top rating.
