If you're a fan of Chief Inspector Peter Diamond, as I am, you get immersed and delighted with each one of the mysteries where he stars. Lovesey is great at creating interesting, believable characters and the stories always feature Diamond's empathy and humor. While there's always a murder, we're not subjected to really grisly stuff, the way too many (for my taste) mysteries seem to have now. This is old-fashioned police sleuthing set in Bath, England, an interesting place you'll learn a lot about.
