A CBA Bestseller Kate O'Malley's specialty is hostage situations, and she's learned to depend only on herself in a crisis. But now Kate's a target. Someone's been sending her black roses . . . maybe the same person who just blew up an airplane and blamed her. This is the first book in the O'Malley series, which is about seven adults who grew up together as orphans and decided to adopt each other and become a family. They chose the name O'Malley. Overall, an interesting premise and a likeable family, but in reality, they live in the U.S., where higher education is pricey. Yet two of them are doctors. Who paid for their education? They just appear as adults, already educated and established. That's the fiction part. This story introduces Kate O'Malley, who is a hostage negotiator who walks into a bank robbery in process. FBI special agent, Dave Richman, introduced in the prequel, happens to be in the bank at the time. The story is good and throughout the series you learn to love them.

This series of books is what got me into reading Christian Fiction. The series is such a good read that I finished a book by the end of the day so I could start on the next book. Could not put them down. I strongly suggest getting EVERY book in this series

Dee Henderson is an excellent writer. She draws you in to the story. You feel like you know the characters personally.

Powerful
I love this book! The story is the first in the O'Malley series, the prequel Danger in the Shadows is also haunting as well. I was stunned by the heroism and the desperation that is presented. I loved the way the authoress wove into her story the real life quality and the everyday that we all have and yet presented a unique set of characters that all face the same question....will they choose Jesus? I loved the concept of "family" presented here and was reminded of the people I consider family whether or not we share blood. Start the journey with the O'Malleys, and see if you can resist them, I certainly couldn't.

Loved It!
This is the 1st book in the O'Malley series and it deff. sets the stage for the other books. It's about Kate O'Malley who is a police negotiator and an FBI agent. One of the most exciting books I've ever read.
