As a layman reader, who has read all of Griffin's amny books, I think the "cops" series to be one of his best. This particular book tells the poingant story of a rich and beautiful socialite who gets mixed up in drug addiction and tragically dies. The story is treated with a realism which makes the events all the more telling, and Griffin's inside knowlege of the inside workd of police work makes the book revealing and compelling. Well worth a read.
