Forty years is a long time to maintain friendships. I am sure that these women have solid ties, but it was hard for me to know why this group out of so many others was chosen. Finally, I don't think that a male author could do justice to this topic.

Boring!
I did not like this book at all. I thought it was going to be more like a story about these women. Instead, it was more like a research paper about friendships and relationships. I must admit, I skipped parts of entire chapters because it was nothing but statistics about friendships. I had to MAKE myself read it in order to finish it.
