This book follows, The Allies, in the American Family Portrait series. It's set prior to and during WW2. The Morgan family hears of the attack on Pearl Harbor when they are at a family reunion. Within months, all four children are scattered throughout the world, involved in the war effort, as a pilot, soldier, entertainer and war photographer. Done with his usual mix of humour, romance and action, Cavanaugh does a good job at bringing the time period alive.
