This is the third time I ordered a book here for school and the description of the book is not the book I received. They mailed book from same author but I needed a newer edition as seen in this photo. The photos being used on this site are not the books being purchased. So double check with the selling before ordering your book.
I ordered this book twice hoping I would get the correct one. 2nd one was damaged.

fine textbook
This was the text for my beginning ceramics class. My teacher said, "if you only ever read on book on ceramics, this is the one." Concise and complete; an excellent text.

Comprehensive and Accessible
I checked the second edition of this book out from our local library after a visit to Pewabic Pottery sparked a latent interest in ceramics. I was amazed at how comprehensively this book covered the topics including types and uses of clays, glaze composition and color ranges, techniques, etc. If you're considering getting into ceramics or already practice in some areas and need a reference, this book would be a good choice.
The reason I looked for it on here is that it's such a good reference that I want my own copy!
