Now my favorite in the series
Overall, a nice story from the Sandy Lanes Stables series. However, I didn't enjoy this one as much as I have some of the other books in the same series.
The writing style seems more inconsistent than usual. The author is repetitive with certain words, so it became annoying when the same (unusual) phrases are used again and again.
Also, the whole plot revolves around huge secrets being kept from parents, which snowball into lying and deceitfulness. These actions are only justified because it seemed like the "right" thing to do, given the circumstances. However, it was the last straw for me when an instance of inappropriate name-calling took place. I wouldn't want to recommend this to any young readers that I personally know.
