This is the best of the Forever Knight books. It reads like an episode from the show. Okay it does need more Lacroix since that character is the most interesting in the history of vampire fiction. This is the classic Nick from the show close to the first season where he's more depressed. The darker Nick is always awesome to see or in this case read. They mystery does not offer a surprise ending. Most reader especially those Forever Knight savy will see the ending coming. All in all this book is worth spending time to savor.
