Terrific
This autobiographical book about my favorite history author is nothing less than outstanding. She connects with me on many levels especially with my connection as a Brooklyn Dodger fan during the 1950s. She grew up on Long Island while I grew up in Connecticut suberbia which were quite similar in many ways. The suburbs of New York allowed for the true melting pot effect of our nation to be realized where Jews, Irish Catholics, Italians, Germans first lived on the same streets in the same neighborhoods. The bond of Dodger fans and the rivalry with Yankee fans during these years brought folks together in common cause.
Great read and highly recommended.
