It provides instruction on preparing for, recognising, and managing the emergency, should it occur, to diminish the danger. The book is arranged in eight sections. The first concentrates on the prevention of emergencies through thorough physical and psychological evaluation and an accurate assessment of the patient; it also stresses the importance of being prepared, should unpreventable emergencies occur. The remaining sections address specific types of emergencies: unconsciousness, respiratory difficulty, altered consciousness, seizures, drug-related emergencies, chest pain, and cardiac arrest. The format is organized around signs and symptoms, and presents the appropriate management in a step-by-step fashion. The appendix provides a quick reference section (algorithms) for life-threatening situations. Dr. Malamed is considered on of the worlds leading authorities in this area.

the book is a good one, but the condition of the book sucked. Online was saying few markings, but almost the whole book is highlighted, underlined, and written all over. In that condition I'd rather buy the book new.
