In a parallel way, each of us engages in a form of leadership known as "servant leadership" by ensuring that service is central to the counseling profession and that the needs of others come first (Greenleaf, 1970). This servant leadership philosophy, which is congruent with the founding principles of counseling, fueled our own curiosity about the stories of our current counseling leaders.
