Suspense!
Lisa Gardner has done it...again! "Look for Me" is a mystery/thriller of the first order.
Detective D.D. Warren is called to a horrific crime scene.
A family of four has been brutally gunned-down. Two adults and two children. The eldest daughter, 16 year-old Roxanna (Roxy) Baez, and the two elderly, blind dogs, Rosie and Blaze, are missing.
D.D. must find the girl. Is she in danger or is she the shooter?
Helping the detective out (reluctantly, on D.D.'s part) is Flora Dane, the famous survivor of Gardner's last novel, "Find Her". She is now the detective's newest CI.
Flora is an amazing and complicated character. Anyone wanting to hear her astonishing backstory should read that book. It's incredible...as is this.
The witty, sarcastic banter between Flora and D.D. is a delight (under the circumstances) as they build a begrudging respect for each other.
They each use their own resources to attempt to track Roxy down. To protect or possibly arrest her.
Roxy's story about her and her sister's , Lola, time in foster care is told through the pages a of a school assignment. And it's heartbreaking.
D.D. and Lola are led down a dark, twisting path filled more shootings and possibilities.
Suspense, cliffhangers, compelling writing...all the trademarks of every wonderful Lisa gardner book!
D.D. Warren rocks!
Flora Dane kicks ass!
