Sorry to be the one to tell you, but this book is about Godwin's wife, Mary Wollstonecraft. (Who is this Hays person?) Together they gave birth to Mary nee Godwin, who later married the poet Shelley. Only gets 3 stars because it is important to anyone who needs this biographical material, but Godwin was the last person who should have written it. He destroyed his late wife's reputation by airing her most deeply personal information just to make himself look good as the open-minded, grieving spouse. Ordering this copy because I lost my old one.
