I reiterate them here, for the information of those who have not met with them elsewhere, and also as showing the necessity of fur ther inquiry into the causes which have produced such a difference in the Wealth and importance of the North and South. In the third chapter I have availed myself of the Report of the Secretary of the Treasury to illustrate my theory of the Unproduc tiveness of Slave Property.
