Shaken by the murder of his uncle, a Bostonian aristocrat living in Hawai'i, John Quincy Winterslip travels to the islands to manage his estate and encourage his aunt Minerva to return home. Winterslip makes the decision to break off his engagement with Agatha and remains in Hawai'i to help with the investigation into his uncle's death. revisiting an old classic
Everytime I re-read this classic, I am again swept away by its lyric quality, its freshness, and its insight into the times in which it was written. The author writes in such a way that he puts you right in the action. You are there walking the streets of Honolulu with Charlie Chan, learning the facts of the case, and falling in love with the city as it was in the earlier part of the twentieth century.
