But she soon overcomes her mournful state, growing close with Carmilla. But the girl's behavior soon proves unsettling. This is one of the first vampire stories. Its told in first person and the lead is whiney. Also forget what you migth have heard. This tale isn't dirty. Yes, the women kiss each other, but it comes across as a friendship thing rather than romantic.
