This is an excellent place to start for people wanting to get into Burroughs. It features many elements that have come to define Burroughs, rampant drug abuse, erotic hangings, shifting timelines with multiple plots, and lots of homosexual activity. In this novel, however, it is presented in the most coherent, digestible, compelling way that I have read from Burroughs. My favorite book of his.
