As I am quite interested in the topic covered in this book, I was very pleased to have it. This is one of the American Trails series. As I haven't read it yet, I can only exclaim over the apparent truthful & accurate historical account of the trail for many to most of the early pioneers coming into Kentucky. The Wilderness Rd starts just north of Winchester, Va, & continues on through Cumberland Gap. The trail was one used first by migrating animals, such as buffalo. The author was the president of Lincoln University, just south of Cumberland Gap. This is a thrilling book, & I can't wait to get into it!!
