(Ideal for youths in preschool-5th grade.) Join author Kyla Price in an educational, entertaining and timeless children's story that emphasizes the power and importance of apology and forgiveness. Through her innate storytelling abilities, Price vividly brings to life "Morals for Munchkins," demonstrating lying only makes matters worse for everyone-including the person telling a fib. Siblings Jill and Suzie are late getting home, mainly because Suzie decides to browse through a toy store to find the latest and greatest toy on the market, "Al the Amazing Alligator." Once they get home, their Mom starts scolding them, automatically blaming Jill-the older sister. Rather than arguing with her parents and sister and risk exposing herself to further punishment and stress, Jill decides to take the heat. Suzie's selfish reluctance to apologize leads to Jill becoming resentful, an obstacle that isn't easily overcome. The relationship between Jill and Suzie is read to be very realistic, but the complex dynamics between siblings are written in a way kids can understand and enjoy. Children are provided an opportunity to learn the importance of sticking to the truth and letting it speak for itself. Price's story exemplifies how expressing feelings, respecting others and talking things through can lead to bridging differences peacefully. The narrative also shows that while people sometimes mistreat each other, showing kindness and admitting and forgiving wrongs is an ideal way to handle conflict. Come enjoy this tale, accentuated by adorably detailed illustrations by Geneva Forte. Through one teddy bear family's positive examples, we're all reminded of the importance of loving unconditionally. -Eric Brink, B.A., Speech Communications; M.C., Conflict Management, Edinboro University Read students' feedback about "It's Never Too Late to Say Sorry" by visiting facebook.com/fortepricebooks.
