Enter the dark, magical world of the House of Night, a world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change - and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no ordinary fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny - with a little help from her new vampyre friends. "Cast reeled me in from paragraph one. I snorted and giggled through the whole thing, and devoured it in one sitting." -- MaryJanice Davidson, New York Times best-selling author of the Undead series

I enjoy supernatural books and enjoyed reading this book's new angle on the vampire. The book follows the transformation of childhood to adulthood from the angle of human to vampire. This book introduces you to some very compelling characters, whom you want to know all about. The book is well written and is enjoyable from the first page until the last.

Yuuummy!
"Marked" by pc cast and kristin cast is brobably one of the most hottest book these days. This is an interesting story about a girl who's just been marked to become a fledgling vampire. Zoey, the main character, has just entered an all vampire school leaving her crazed mom and her step-loser. Zoey's future might turn out to be not so bad when she meets new friends and finds another boyfriend (besides her "ex" boyfriend. For now she's meeting up with Approdite, a hag who's the leader of the dark daughters!

4 Stars to Marked
Marked is the begining of the series "House of Night" novels, based in a fictional reality where vampyres co-reside with humans. The vampyres are not made, but go through a physical and mental change from human to vampyre if their Goddess, Nyx, so chooses.
I thought the writing was done well, a teenager wouldn't have any difficulty reading this book, and an adult may enjoy the frivolous humour that makes you forget to do the chores. 'Marked' is also part mystery, so as you are reading about the main character, Zoey, making the new changes as a maked fledgling, you are also trying to figure out the underlying pieces of the puzzel within in her new home of the House of Night.
