"The House on the Borderland (1908)-perhaps the greatest of all Mr. Hodgson's works-tells of a lonely and evilly regarded house in Ireland which forms a focus for hideous otherworld forces and sustains a siege by blasphemous hybrid anomalies from a hidden abyss below. A book I recently read mentioned this small novel and said it was very scary. I have not yet finished it. It is eerie, but I have not found it to be very scary. Still, iti is interesting and tightly written. I might recommend it. Not sure yet. I would like to see how someone else felt about it. Most books do not scare me.
