Each of these slipcased limited editions is signed and numbered, and has a ribbon marker and specially illustrated endpapers. With a print run of just 500, this is a treat for collectors. One drowsy summer's day in 1984, teenage runaway Holly Sykes encounters a strange woman who offers a small kindness in exchange for 'asylum'. Decades will pass before Holly understands exactly what sort of asylum the woman was seeking . . . The Bone Clocks follows the twists and turns of Holly's life from a scarred adolescence in Gravesend to old age on Ireland's Atlantic coast as Europe's oil supply dries up - a life not so far out of the ordinary, yet punctuated by flashes of precognition, visits from people who emerge from thin air and brief lapses in the laws of reality. For Holly Sykes - daughter, sister, mother, guardian - is also an unwitting player in a murderous feud played out in the shadows and margins of our world, and may prove to be its decisive weapon. Metaphysical thriller, meditation on mortality and chronicle of our self-devouring times, this kaleidoscopic novel crackles with the invention and wit that have made David Mitchell one of the most celebrated writers of his generation. Here is fiction at its most spellbinding and memorable best.

Seller's Description:
New. Signed by author. Signed by Multi Award Winning Author David Mitchell. First edition. 608 p. Audience: General/trade. A New U.K. First Edition-First Printing, one of a Deluxe Slipcased Edition of 500 numbered and signed (by Author David Mitchell) copies; it is still in the original shrink wrap and in Pristine overall condition. The book within the slipcase was issued by the Publisher without a dust jacket. "The Bone Clocks" is a kaleidoscopic novel, rich with character and realms of possibilities, and is divided into six sections with five first-person point of view narrators. They are loosely connected by the character of Holly Sykes, a young woman from Gravesend who is gifted with an "invisible eye' and semi-psychic abilities. The novel is filled with invention and wit, and sheer storytelling pleasure. "The Bone Clocks" won the 2015 World Fantasy Award and was longlisted for the 2014 Man Booker Prize for Fiction and was named a "Notable Book" by both the New York Times and the American Library Assocation. Rest assured, this collectible Limited Edition Slipcase Edition copy will be very carefully packaged with protective material; and will be shipped in a new box. We always treat all of our books, and book buyers with the utmost respect.

Fine in Fine jacket. 1st Printing. A superb slipcased signed and numbered limited edition-one of 500 copies only-All my books are always securely packed with plenty of bubblewrap in professional boxes and promptly dispatched (within 2-3 days)-SIGNED BY DAVID MITCHELL-Pictures available upon request.
Mitchell is not in top form in his latest novel, but he does score points on his multi-layered character, Dr. Marinus. The body-to-body lifetime leaps for the "atemporals" recalls the smooth overlay of the life-after-life motif that worked so well in Cloud Atlas (still my favorite novel). This novel, however, makes for some difficult reading at times. What-the-hell-is-going-on? complicates the already complex plot that is not altogether satisfying. A second reading may help to bring clarity to the confusion produced by the time jumps into the future where Holly Sykes' character becomes somewhat flat: a blur receding into the background of the out-of-time 'war'. Still, a worthwhile read but it takes effort to sort out the characterology of who's who when. And where.
