An excellent book detailing what our men and women in the military go through to become a dog handler. It's even more amazing how these wonderful dogs perform endlessly to protect our soldiers and are more than just man's best friend. Goodavage's book is excellent in providing insight of all that goes into grooming a dog for military preparedness. The commitment and dedication of our men, women and four legged partners working in over 100 degree heat and constant danger to keep America safe is so amazing and inspiring. As in any military conflict, there will always be loss of life and it was so painful and tearful to read about every dog handler and dog who did not make it back home. Any dog lover will cherish this book and shed many tears as well as realize how lucky we are to be sitting in an air conditioned home leading the good life.
