History 101
I read this (1926 Newbery Edition) while biking thru Chile a decade ago, had to resist stealing it from the Pucon library. You have to want to understand history to enjoy this. That said, it is an engaging work of (Western) history brought into perspective and easily understood by children and adults alike. Also, the pictures are cool (for a chapter book).
