Monumental
An absolutely beautiful multifaceted dark fantasy tale that gripped me from the very beginning. It will tug on your heart-strings, creep you out at times, fill you with adrenaline/endorphins at others. I found myself wanting to cry a bit multiple times throughout the book for the characters. I was so invested, and the delivery just really hit hard. I mean the writing itself was vivid and at times seriously quotable. The pacing was great, not once did I find any part of this book boring or dragging, only exciting and fascinating from beginning to end. The world building was phenomenal, with Purgatory being described more as another dimension with its own cultures and issues separate but very much related to our own.
The only flaws I can find are maybe a few holes in the plot or characters that could potentially have been fleshed out a bit more. These flaws were easily ignored though. Do NOT pass this one up, it really was a work of art in the genre, imo.
