Add this copy of Unbearable Lightness: a Story of Loss and Gain to cart. $2.39, very good condition, Sold by ThriftBooks-Baltimore rated 4.0 out of 5 stars, ships from Halethorpe, MD, UNITED STATES, published 2011 by Atria Books.
This was a surprisingly well-written book. Portia's personal descriptions of her battle with not only gender issues, but also weight and body image, were very poignant. Readers of adolescent ages should probably have adult supervision, as some of the content can be rather confrontive and confusing, but nonetheless, extremely relevant in today's world, where on every magazine cover is someone's battle with weight and sexuality.
