Family Curse or Worse?
I am so happy that Travis's story is told now. The companion novel touching on him will bring him full to the fore in this novel. A desperate parent, set on nothing but finding his daughter will have you feeling he is justified in his methods to achieve. Even though they may hurt an innocent woman. A parent would understand such single mindedness. The heroine in this story goes from her past as a victim to a strong willed woman facing her own life without question to aid Travis in his goal - regardless of the consequences to herself and her family. That she has a vested interest in Travis finding his daughter touches little on the story. You come to believe she would fight just a fiercly were the child not as important to her own life. The surprising twists of this novel will have you aching to know more than what the length allows and hoping for additional stories as prequels. What is the best about this story is that regardless of this being Travis's story and he is slated as the "hero" - the real hero is the heroine and there is an unlikely heroine in the child that must live through the angst of the story all the while trying to use the resources taught by Travis during her childhood. Keep this one around for another read also - you will not be disappointed in investing in this book - used or even as a new purchase.
