This is an enjoyable view of life inside the Monty Python troupe. Palin, in his diaries, records day to day life during his Python years. It is interesting to see the conflicts, as well as the friendships, within the cast and their struggle for autonomy, and success. There is an excitement, as well as a cost ,in achieving stardom . Palin is a likeable, but honest guide to the creative process within the Python films and series.
