I read this work as a freshman at College of Holy Cross (Worcester, Ma) in 1955. Recently, I sent a copy to my son who found it most engaging from cover to cover. I gave the Alibris copy to another son who is also deeply impressed. Its great value is in the consistent quality of the judgments made about Christ and the meaning of His words. I reread parts of it myself and recommend to everyone who is serious about the life of Christ and its meaning.

Christ and His times
The geographic background and the historical milieu of Jesus' times explained so well at the beginning of the book make it a great purchase. Then Ricciotti's 'teasing out' of the many travels of Jesus and his apostles and his explanations for the occasional biblical time line discrepancies of when Jesus was where he was was most helpful to me in better understanding what I have read and pondered in the bible. This book is a must read for any serious student of the bible and a should read for anyone that has been confused about some of the history surrounding Jesus' life.
