This book is an excellent illustration of right-wing tactics (Mothers for Liberty, for example) to ban books from public libraries., cut public library funding, and in general stiffel books. The story is written by a librarian in Louisiana who fights a battle to keep libraries with with books for all citizens, not just a few. She pays a price for her dissent. She has to keep a gun to defend herself from right wing vigilantes who threaten her. This book is important reading for our time.
