In other stories, Littlenose enjoys feasting at the Sun Dance, and learning how to make piercing noises (sorry, music) with a stalk of hemlock. He also finds time to discover some cave paintings while exploring (and is forced to make a hasty exit when the cave's inhabitants return). And he finds himself further away from home than anticipated after taking a trip down the river. Finally, in the title story, Littlenose saves the day by rescuing his father from a pit in the ground (just don't ask why the pit was there in the first place...).
