a k9 office had a dog that died in a bomb blast that affected his hearing. he moved back to his small home town to be a dog catcher when his wife told him she wanted a divorce. he is very distraught about his beloved dog dieing because of him
he finds a injured dog and catches him. he nurses him back to health. the dog is friendly toward everyone but him. he can sense the man does not want to love him. he was shot and mistreated by his owner, the man figured out his identity and arrested him.
he meets a widow at a horse rescue and they become friends. his no good drug dealing brother gets out of prison and moves in with the recovered alcoholic dad and starts dealing again. he tries to rescue his brother when he goes thru the ice but he cant, the dad did save him though. he ends up getting another k9 to work with and moves in with the rescue widow. he gives the other dog to his dad
