In the newest adventure in the "New York Times "bestselling mystery series that the "Los Angeles Times" says is "nothing short of masterful," canine narrator Chet and his human partner P.I. Bernie Little find that Hollywood has gone to the dogs. Chet, everyone's favorite canine narrator, and his human partner Bernie Little are back with another case to solve. In "A Fistful of Collars," our two sleuths are conducting a secret investigation of the famous--and notoriously badly behaved--Western movie star Thad Perry, and his motley entourage of yes-men, handlers, and hangers-on. The money is good but something smells fishy, and what might have been a simple matter of babysitting soon gets more complicated--especially when it turns out Thad has a mysterious connection to the Valley nobody wants to talk about. What secret did Thad leave behind when he went to Hollywood to seek fame and fortune? The only people who might know the answer have a bad habit of turning up dead before they can talk. Worst of all, Thad is a self-proclaimed cat person, and his feline friend Brando has taken an instant dislike to Chet. "Between Chet's insightful and humorous takes on human events, the fast-paced plot, and the wealth of fascinating secondary characters, this is a fine entry in a not-to-be-missed series" ("Booklist"). Like Stephen King says: "Author Spencer Quinn speaks two languages--suspense and dog--very fluently." "A Fistful of Collars "combines a top-notch mystery with a funny and perceptive take on the relationship between human and dog that will stay with you long after the case is solved.

I fell in love with Chet and Bernie from the first book I read. You want to re-read and savor them often. I have already pre-ordered the newest one. It is so obvious that Mr. Quinn is a dog lover and my old "baby" is 15 years old and blind or I would recommend he read them too. Please don't stop the series.
