This was a wonderful read. Roosevelt writes in detail about his experiences and observations. He has keen observations about everything connected with cowboys and that era. I had to use a magnifying glass with the Time-Life edition but it was well worth the effort! You can tell that Theo R. was intelligent with a mature outlook. He kept his dignity. He had just lost his wife and mother and went West to recover.

Authentic American western history
I have always admired Teddy Roosevelt and this latest book here of mine is another reason I so admire this man. A "mans man", a through and through American patriot who lived and represented America's best ideals. It is clear through this book how the Western Ranch life he experienced here as contained in this book help to shape the great leader he already was and was too become for America. Buy it........read it..........and experiece one of America's great true tales of a time and people gone by.
