If you love books, you will love this one. Edmund Gosse was one of the foremost late Victorian writers in England and was extremely popular in America as well. He was a prolific writer and was highly esteemed as a dinner guest because he was such an entertaining speaker. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of literature -- as only the Victorians could have -- and he told what he knew in a delightful manner. If you read one of his books he will become a friend for life.
