I wanted to read more works by Samuel Hopkins Adams after reading "Average Jones". Both books shared in the liberal and educated use of the entire English language. It's great fun to read an author who has a sense of humor, and an enjoyment of the ridiculousness of the human animal. The main characters are multi-dimensional, painted with a light, bright brush. I enjoyed glimpses of life in another time and place. The story caught me immediately - I love a great story. Can't wait to read more by this author.
