This is a very useful, well-written & researched history on the specific actions during the Indian Wars and more specifically the actions before GEN Custer's final, tragic battle.
The campaign was a joint operation of US Cavalry and Infantry Regiments against a variety of American Indian tribes.
Book has an index, footnotes and bibliography. There could be more maps however.
Bottom line- recommended buy.
