Richard Ellmann, talented biographer, has added a new dimension to his literary accomplishments. In Yeats," the Man and the Masks," Ellmann has proceeded to dicipher and analyze much of the poetry and prose of Yeats. To the reader of average interest, I would consider this book of insightful analyses to be much too detailed to really entertain. However to serious students of poetry in general, and Keats in particular, it would be a treasure trove of information. Therefore in my rating I will give it a good for students of the subject ! However for the main stream reader, it would definitely fail to entertain, as it is such a laborious and erudite undertaking !
