Mr. Olivant wrote the dog book of all dog books. He captured the locale, the denizens, and the dogs perfectly. I would recommend this book to any person interested in sheepdogging. The movie, supposedly based on the book, "Owd Bob," tells a totally different story, so do not be surprised if you have seen the movie before reading the book.
