CONTENT: Vic Weals (1918-2001) was an experienced journalist with the Knoxville Journal who wrote a folksy column for the paper called "Tennessee Travels" (1976-86). These were based on oral histories and period photographs he collected from old-timers who had worked in the logging industry in what is now the Tennessee side of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
