Tells the story of early pioneers who colonized Vermont in 1761 in Old Bennington and later Rupert Mountain Community. The "saltbox home" was a symbol of a homespun and rugged democracy, of folkways that spelled survival by ingenuity, labor and keeping their eye on their goals.
