Seller's Description:
Fine. First edition. Foreword by Muriel Rukeyser. Cover illustrated with a woodcut by Antonio Frasconi. Glossy wrappers. Page edges and first and last pages faintly foxed, slight discoloration along the spine edges and tiny stain at the spine base (not affecting the interior), very good or better. Inscribed to noted Poet David Ignatow on the half-title: "11/21/83 Dear David, Remember them. My deep gratitude, Daniel." In her foreword, written shortly before she died, Rukeyser calls the book a "masterpiece of relatedness." Prominent scholar of Italian American Studies Fred L. Gardaphé (CUNY Queens) has called Gabriel's poem a "brave work that has not received the attention it deserves." An uncommon book with a nice association.
