In her nightmare she saw the eyes first - huge, yellow and evil - they stared in at her. Then she smelled the thick, cloying stench that had seeped into her room, that now filled her nose and her mouth. Then she realized it wasn't a nightmare, it was real. By the author of "The Keep".

not your ordinary vampire tale
A new take on the old vampire theme. It horrifies, mystifies and intrigues like any vampire tale should but adds a more terrifying twist -- it is set during World War II at the height of the Nazi domination. It begs the question: when push comes to shove, who would you root for -- the Nazis or the vampires? But even as intriguing as all that sounds, the real twist of the story is the revelation of the author's novel ideas regarding good and evil, the existence of God, our purpose in the world, the meaning of life and other fundamental philosophical questions. The book is fast-paced and will never leave you bored. You may or may not agree with his views but it makes for an interesting read. I would have given it a 4.5 except they don't take half-point ratings.
