Seller's Description:
Very Good. First edition, wrappered issue. 265pp. Moderate edgewear and rubbing, very good. Inscribed by the author on the title page to *New York Times* Moscow correspondent, author, and Pulitzer Prize winner Harrison Salisbury and his wife Charlotte: "To Charlotte and Harrison with fondest wishes and souvenirs of so many meetings in so many places and historic moments. Wilfred Burchett. 5/12/77." Burchett was an Australian journalist known for being the first western journalist to report from Hiroshima after the dropping of the atomic bomb, and for his reporting from "the other side" during the wars in Korea and Vietnam. Beginning in November 1963, Burchett spent six months in southern Vietnam with National Liberation Front guerrillas, staying in their fortified hamlets and traveling underground in their network of narrow tunnels. An excellent association copy between two boots on the ground journalists.
