Very Good+ in Very Good-dust jacket. 090157144X. Cover is grey with silver lettering on spine. Grey endpapers. Pages are clean and tight [except as noted]. Illustrated with 237 b/w brass rubbings. Originally published in 1910 by L. Upcott Gill. Has instructions on how to do brass rubbings, and localities, alphabetically by county, of churches with brasses to rub. Laid in are three unused postcards of the Red Lion Hotel, Salisbury, England. Also has a dictionary of terms. Bibliography; index.; B&W Illustrations; 5 1/2 x 8 3/4; 456 pages; Cover has some shelf wear, sunning; owner's name written on front end paper; 2 pages of preface have a few lines of yellow highlighting, as well as a couple of other pages scattered throughout the book; original publishing information on copyright page is circled in pen and has yellow highlighter on it. Otherwise, the pages are very clean. DJ has shelfwear, rubbing/scuffing, sunning, bumping, some small tears across the top and bottom; in a mylar cover.

A good copy, the cloth at the forecorner on the back cover is worn along the top for about one--inch by a quarter-inch, the spine is bumped at the top on the left side, there is a little wear along the bottom edges, and there are two signatures of former owners on the front free endpaper.
