A lovely study of art and the human community as mechanisms for healing the loss and "damage" of a WW I veteran.

A beautiful book
"A Month in the Country" is a lovely little book about love, long lost, but never forgotten. Carr has an easy going, gentle style, yet is able to vividly convey a time and place, and an appealing array of characters. The characters seem very genuine. Likewise, the feelings of love, remembrance, and regret are, also, right on the money.
