Most of wilbur Smith's books are fantastic. This one, not so much, but it does give background for some of the previous works.

Wilbur Smith always delivers
I have read many of his novels starting with When the Lion Feeds and have never been disappointed in his volume of work! Great stories, tremendous detail leading to great mental imagery!
