This is the sequel to "A Lantern in Her Hand" and I enjoyed it even more. The story picks up right where the other one ended and this time we are following Laura Deal, Abby's granddaughter . She, like her grandma before her has great great plans for her future. She is going to be famous, she will never marry. It is too much trouble and would only interfere with her glorious plans. It takes the whole book for her to come around and realize , like her grandma had before her , that the most important things in this world are not necessarily the ones valued by it . What could be more important than molding small minds with love that only you can give? To be the helper and best friend of a good man. All in all, it was a wonderful book.
